During Coronavirus pandemic, the schools are closed, restaurants and shopping malls closed, the financial markets closed, the border are closed along with many more. Not only is the world economy declining, it is also a trauma to the mind of people. In this context, the official Chinese media Xinhua net posted an article to ask the world to thank China. At the same time, the Chinese-language online world is full of news from Western societies, including Canada, about the excluded, insulted, and hatred toward Chinese.
As a Chinese person, I have lived in Canada for 20 years and haven’t experienced any exclusion, insult and hatred to Chinese so far, instead, I saw the Canadian prime ministerJustin Trudeauhaving dinner with Chinese during Coronavirus pandemic. Recently, Trudeau unveils $82B COVID-19 emergency response package for Canadians and none of which was restricted from the Chinese. In my city Calgary, after a Chinese child was identified with covid-19, the child care center had to be closed, including the entire building where the child care center located. However, the report from government did not reveal any information related to the child's race or family, except that the child returned from the United States.
So, does this belief that Chinese are excluded, insulted and hatred really exist? Frankly speaking, even if it exists, it is a personal behavior or a special phenomenon. It is misleading to exaggerate this belief into a general phenomenon or ubiquitous and to imagine a series of Western enemies, then to blame the entire Western society or Western countries.
This global tragedy created by the virus that originated in Wuhan has its causes and consequences. To avoid the source of the virus, to conceal the data, to hide the fact that experts are not allowed to enter China to investigate, but to dig out individual civil events, and to rise it into the political height such as excluded, insulted and hatred toward the Chinese, is to catalyze the patriotic sentiment and han chauvinism of the Chinese people, which is the Chinese authorities diverting and shirking responsibility.
The education of fools in China is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. Recently, many anti-western slogans have appeared in Chinese society, and even Chinese people refuse to go KFC in China. A restaurant called "Yang mother’s congee shop" in Shenyang, Liaoning province, China, also posted a banner "warm congratulations on the epidemic in the United States, wish the virus in Japan successfully forever. "This scene, reminds us of the 911 period Chinese people set off firecrackers to celebrate the bombing of the United States world trade center.
There is a trace of that Chinese patriotism. For example, in the 1950s, the Chinese bitterly supported their government to "liberation" of Tibet and to start KoreanWar. In the 1960s, they supported their government to start Sino-Indian War and in the 1970s they supported their government to start Sino-Vietnamese Warand so on.
As a result, many Chinese have lived abroad for years and still refuse to accept the truth and refuse any introspection or heart-searching, and they are difficult to integrate into the western world. Because their values are the opposite of western civilization. This is why the Chinese media can publish an advertisement "urgently hired" overseas students to shoot a novel coronavirus video causing discrimination against Chinese.
Because of the support, Chinese government has swaggered away from responsibility for the Wuhan virus pandemic. For example, the source of Wuhan virus, first the Chinese media implied it came from Mars, after a while, they said it came from the United States and now said it may come from Italy. But why does it originally appear in Wuhan in China? The government only avoids this question.
For now, Chinese media continues to hide the information about the Wuhan virus, for example, a day after researchers at a Shanghai laboratory published sequenced the genome of the coronavirus, they were abruptly shut down. Because the Chinese could not get the truth from their government or the media, their judgments often become the joke of the civilized world.
This is sad. Assume that China was willing to say sorry to the world instead of asking the world to thank them, would there be such numbers excluded, insulted and hatred toward Chinese in western countries? The consequence of Chinese gullible education is that the individual bears the responsibility of the state, while the state profits by hiding behind the individuals.
